Store-Bought Avocados...

Freshness: Their avocados were picked weeks ago, shipped to a warehouse then sent to your local store. Since avocados start to ripen when they're picked, these would have a very short shelf-life and they may appear brown and bruised when you cut into them.

Selection and Variety: Most of the avocados in your local grocery store are of the Haas or Fuerte varieties, year-round.

Quality and Taste: These avocados are often grown and shipped from Peru or Mexico, and stored for weeks, compromising the taste.
